Welcome to the Breeders of the American Rabbit Specialty Club!

We’re thrilled to have you join our dedicated community of enthusiasts, breeders, and advocates united by a shared passion for the American rabbit — one of the rarest and most distinctive breeds in the rabbit world.
The American rabbit, developed in the early 1900s, is a true American original. Recognized for its deep body, bold mandolin shape, and calm temperament, this breed was once a staple of American homesteads. Today, it is considered a rare heritage breed, with its conservation listed as a priority by the Livestock Conservancy.
American rabbits come in two recognized varieties: Blue and White. The Blue variety boasts a rich, slate-blue coat that is unique among domestic breeds, while the White variety is known for its striking, pure white fur and ruby-red eyes.
As breeders and supporters, our mission is not only to promote the breed but also to preserve its legacy for future generations. Whether you’re here to learn, show, breed, or support, you are part of a vital effort to ensure the American rabbit thrives once again.
Welcome aboard — let’s make a difference together!
